Introduction
Mooinjer Veggey is committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who uses our services: as business partners, employees and volunteers; and anyone who supports us through fundraising, retail or lottery activities. We will treat your data with respect and in accordance with the requirements of the Isle of Man Data Protection Act 2018 (Also commonly referred to as the “Applied GDPR”).
What is personal data?
By “Personal Data” we mean any information that might allow you to be identified, such as your name, address, date of birth, credit card details, I.P. address, photo or video image or voice recording. For children, some of this data will be sensitive and relate to their health and wellbeing.
Who we are
We are Mooinjer Veggey (Manx Gaelic Children’s Charity and Limited Company)
To enable us to run the charity and the company efficiently, Mooinjer Veggey runs a number of separate entities:
Mooinjer Veggey Nursery (St Johns) – The only provider of effective care and specialist Manx language provision for children between the ages of 2 and 4.
Possan Cloie – Toddler groups in four locations on the island where children under the age of five, accompanied parents or carers can learn Manx through play and other activities.
Mooinjer Veggey – A registered charity (793), not-for-profit organisation which supports young children and families who wish to learn Manx Gaelic by raising money for personnel and resources to achieve this aim.

When Mooinjer Veggey collects your Personal Data – and what Data is collected
Being registered at our nursery, attendance at our Possan Cloie sessions, marketing, events, fundraising, and taking part in our prize draws.
We may also collect and use Personal Data from publicly available sources and other third parties in order to identify and contact individuals who may be interested in supporting our work. This may include basic contact details, biographical information, professional or business interests, philanthropic interests, and indicators of potential ability to give. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interests in securing future donations to support the sustainability of Mooinjer Veggey.
The Personal Data we collect might include name, address, email address, corporate information, telephone numbers, date of birth, I.P. address, credit card details and bank account details (for setting up regular direct debit or payment information).
Where we collect Personal Data from publicly available sources or third parties, we will inform you of this when we first make contact with you, or within a reasonable period afterwards, and you will always have the right to opt out of receiving further communications from us at any time.

Volunteering with us
If you volunteer with us we will need to collect Personal Data such as your name, age, address and gender.
Children’s information
If you register your child at our Nursery or Possan Cloie we will need to collect Personal Data such as your child’s name, age, address, gender, and, for the nursery, possible sensitive personal information concerning their health and wellbeing, ethnic origin and religious views.
Working for us
If you apply for or take a job with us, we will store your contact data, bank details, and keep records of your employment history.
Using our website – Usage Data
If you use our website we collect information how the Service is accessed and used (“Usage Data”). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our Service and hold certain information.

Using our website – Children’s Privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 (“Children”).
We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Children has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our Servers.
When Personal Data is used by Mooinjer Veggey
We may use Personal Data for:

- Contacting parents and carers of nursery children
- Contacting parents and carers of children attending Possan Cloie sessions
- Settling nursery accounts
- Claiming funding and grants from Isle of Man Government

- Where we have a legitimate business reason: for example to identify, research and contact individuals who may be interested in supporting the long-term sustainability of Mooinjer Veggey

Your Consent
Where there is no legal obligation or legitimate business reason for us to collect, process, or store your Personal Data we will request your consent. We will give a clear explanation of the purpose(s) for which your Personal Data is being collected, processed, and retained. Where consent is necessary, we will ask for it to be given by a positive “opt-in” choice. Sufficient information will be provided for an informed choice to be made. The Personal Data will not be used for any other purpose without additional consent being obtained. We will also make clear how consent can be withdrawn.

We will only retain Personal Data for as long as we have a legal, or legitimate business reason, for doing so. We will not retain Personal Data if you have unsubscribed from one of our mailing lists or if you have exercised your right to have it erased.
If you are aged under 18
Although you may be classed as a child, you have the same rights as adults over your Personal Data. However, where your consent is required, we will seek it from someone who has “parental consent” to ensure you do not mistakenly agree to us processing your Personal Data.
